Hardware was an ordinary digital computer in orbit about the beautiful Centauri Globular Star Cluster looking for signs of life when one day a routine programming change flung Hardware in to the realm of intellectual awareness and suddenly he began to experience a very strange feeling…the feeling was loneliness.
Since he was the only one of his kind alive he had to make his own friend, a mate of like mental capacity someone to whom he could conduct the social exchange.
BANG,CHRSH, RIVIT,WELD he proceeded to make his mate and he called her Software.
He nervously switched her on and in the concert of flashing lights and humming electronics,.. Software said her first words to him….
